The Maharashtra Water Summit 2022 brought together leaders from civil society, government, corporate sectors, and academia to discuss pressing water-related issues and share sustainable solutions. As part of the summit, Rooftop Arts Foundation (RAF) took the opportunity to highlight the intersection of art and environmental awareness by showcasing a remarkable Phad painting created by students of Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh School, Jaipur. The artwork was centered around the theme of water conservation, aligning with the summit’s core message.
Phad painting, a traditional folk art form from Rajasthan, is known for its storytelling elements and vibrant visuals. By featuring this piece, RAF not only celebrated the artistic prowess of young minds but also used the platform to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation through cultural heritage. This initiative exemplifies the Foundation’s commitment to promoting traditional art forms while driving meaningful change.
The painting received high praise from Rajendra Singh, known as the “Waterman of India,” who emphasized the importance of integrating art into environmental education. The presence of the school’s Principal and RAF’s Founder made the event memorable, further inspiring students and stakeholders to use art as a medium to amplify social messages.
